Abishai is the lo-fi noise-rock vehicle of Torrance, California multi-instrumentalist Abishai Smith (aliases DJ Bathtub, Eden, Mizpah), who splatters feedback, drum machines, and kazoo across deliberately unpolished sludge, no wave, and noisecore excursions. The 43-track 'Raw and Legendary!!!' Killing Joke are an English post-punk band formed in Notting Hill, London in 1979, whose 'tension music' fused aggressive rhythms with gothic, industrial and metallic weight across landmark records like Night Time (1985) and Pandemonium (1994). Frontman Jaz Coleman's apocalyptic delivery and the band's dense, dubwise heaviness made them a widely cited influence on industrial and alternative acts including Metallica, Nirvana and Nine Inch Nails. Lochrian Poem is the solo project of Romanian multi-instrumentalist Andrei 'Solomonar' Oltean (Sibiu), billed as experimental atmospheric doom metal. Timeless Necrotears is a Barcelona, Spain solo/duo project built around Christian L. Becker (guitars, synths, vocal effects), joined on some releases by Pablo Bermejo (additional vocals). Atooishinjuu is a US-based (Georgia) avant-garde/industrial metal project formed in 2002. Their debut EP 'Give In to You' introduced tom-heavy tribal drumming and clean production, followed two years later by the concept album 'The Death Imprint' (2004), which explores grief through atmospheric sample collages, hand drums, sitar and layered vocals. Envy are a Japanese band formed in Tokyo in 1992, pioneers of a cinematic strain of screamo that gradually absorbed the crescendo dynamics of post-rock. Fronted by Tetsuya Fukagawa's cathartic screamed and spoken vocals, they became one of Japan's foremost exports to the international post-hardcore scene across eight studio albums through Eunoia (2024). They have recorded for Level Plane, Temporary Residence and Rock Action, and are known for high-profile splits with Jesu and Thursday.

Rosetta is a post-metal band formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2003, blending sludge metal, post-rock, drone, ambient, and space rock into a sound the band self-describes as "metal for astronauts." Their key releases include the two-disc The Galilean Satellites (2006), Wake/Lift (2007), and A Determinism of Morality (2010), issued on Translation Loss Records before the group became fully independent. They are known for lengthy, atmospheric compositions and an eclectic hybrid drawing on post-hardcore, shoegaze, and progressive elements.

Caspian are an instrumental band from Beverly, Massachusetts, formed in 2003, and they use post-rock's crescendo shape as a container for far more than post-rock. Three guitars, pedal steel, synthesizers and tape loops build the quiet halves; the loud halves reach genuine post-metal weight, PopMatters calling Dust and Disquiet (2015) a 'prog-metal melee, equal parts resplendent and eviscerating' full of 'distorted clangor, rife with feedback and guitar squeals'. Around the edges sit things the genre usually leaves out — programmed voices, beats and loops, a crooning trumpet, piano and glockenspiel, and on later records obscured vocal melody and outright screams cutting through the shimmer. Where their peers treat atmosphere as the destination, Caspian treat it as one instrument among several, which is why the records keep changing texture from track to track instead of repeating the same slow build.
