Red Ankh is the one-man digital/chiptune metal project of singer-songwriter and producer Shyft, running since 2004 (Denver, Colorado, formerly Minneapolis). Shyft builds each record from vocals, vocal synthesis, chiptune and physical-modeling synths, and sample libraries, cycling through black, death, power, symphonic, thrash, and folk metal alongside chiptune, gabber, gothic, industrial, dance, and trance elements -- a self-described 'industrial folk prog metal core' aimed at 'breaking down genre boundaries.' Early records (Blue, later remastered as Blue Two) were largely instrumental chiptune-metal before later albums like Red (2024) expanded the vocal and stylistic range.

Szarfaszú Vizelet is a one-man Hungarian 'animegrind/weebgrind' project run by Nekrocunt since 2013, fusing grindcore and goregrind with black metal touches, programmed drums, synthesizer, and sampler. Releases are typically short blasts of noise built around anime in-jokes and parody concepts — tribute EPs to specific anime series, meme track titles, and a self-declared 'nintendocore' streak. It's aggressively niche, more internet-culture gag project than scene band, but the electronic/grind hybrid is real and consistent across a decade of releases.

Gort was a short-lived Hungarian dark/black metal project from Makó, active 1998-2000, that served as the direct predecessor to Thy Catafalque. Founded by Tamás Kátai and János Juhász together with bassist Péter Gáspár and drummer Zoltán Kónya (later of Gire), the band released a single EP, Forest Myths (2000, reissued 2023), before Kátai and Juhász moved on to found the more extreme and experimental Thy Catafalque.

Nlorgpipe is the extremely prolific raw-black-metal solo/duo vehicle of Jesse (aka Zolgorm, aka Nlorgpipe), who is also the drummer/vocalist/bassist of Flint, Michigan act Baazlvaat. Since 2021 (as a rename of the earlier Zolgorm project) it has put out dozens of lo-fi, noise-caked releases blending black and death metal with industrial grit; a listener comparison to Finntroll's melodies surfaces on some tracks but was not confirmed as actual folk instrumentation.

Old Nick is Bay Area musician Jesse Terres's (as Abysmal Specter) vehicle for raw, synth-soaked black metal that swaps bass guitar for buzzing, distorted keyboard tones. Built around dungeon-synth atmosphere, folklore-and-fairy-tale concept pieces, and a deliberately campy take on black metal's usual Satanic seriousness, the project has been prolific on Grime Stone Records since 2020, releasing EPs and albums like Forest of Grief and Iam Vampire Castle at a rapid clip.

Ragnarökkur is an atmospheric black metal project whose Bandcamp lists Iceland as its home (Metal Archives instead tags it Finland/Iceland, suggesting a split/international lineup), built around the core pairing of Matron Thorn (strings and synthetics) and Nefarious (drums and percussion), with Palmi and Stefan on voice and guest female vocals from Kabukimono. Its sole release to date, the 2021 demo Fjöldagröf Goðanna, sets furious, technically dense atmospheric black metal against Icelandic-language song titles drawn from Norse mythology (the name itself is an Icelandic form of Ragnarök), with orchestral synth layering thickening the atmosphere. Beyond that one five-track demo there is no further discography or biographical material available.

Urizen is an electronic-influenced avant-garde metal band from Fort Worth/Denton, Texas, formed in 2003 by brothers Thomas and Daniel Drinnen (previously the black metal act Dunwitch Horror). Best known for chiptune/Nintendo-style synths — culminating in the 2011 remix album 8-Bit Universe — and a highly theatrical live show performed in full armor-style space suits. Critics have compared their avant-metal songwriting to Arcturus, Solefald and electronic-era Ulver.

Crown of Ascension is the solo experimental black metal project of UK multi-instrumentalist A. White (Oxfordshire), who is also the sole member of extreme-metal project Vessel of Iniquity and the industrial/drone/doom project Uncertainty Principle. The project blends blastbeat-driven black metal with industrial, drone and electronic textures, with cello recurring as a primary instrument alongside drum machines pushed to extreme tempos.

Towards Rusted Soil is a black metal side project of Tamás Kátai, better known as the founder/mainman of Thy Catafalque (and also of Gort and Gire), on which he performed all vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards and programming himself. The project released two demos, Forsaken in Fog (2000) and A Landscape Slumbering (2003), before its material was reissued on a 2014 four-way split alongside fellow Makó-scene acts Gort, Namtar and Gire.

Rotting Heaven was a black metal band from Sergiyev Posad, Moscow Oblast, Russia, active 2008–2017, part of a small local scene that also produced Neon Scaffold and VTTA. Their sound has been described as classical, icy black metal contaminated with caustic electronic effects in the Mysticum lineage, closing out with a 2017 split with Wolok before disbanding.
