Black Hole Constellation is a Slovak project built around bassist/composer Michal Jahoda ('Jahoodster'), who writes, records and produces music he calls 'Cinematic Avant-Groove Metal' -- groove-driven riffs fused with horror-soundtrack atmosphere and avant-garde electronic production. Begun as a solo project around 2015, it became a functional two-piece once drummer Marian Leskovsky ('Majo') joined; the 2023 debut full-length Garden of Deception Delights also featured Norwegian vocalist Guro Eliassen Kverndokk and received Slovak Arts Council funding. Jahoda cites Meshuggah, Primus, Mr. Bungle, John Zorn and Frank Zappa among his influences.

Puscifer is the shape-shifting studio-and-performance-art project of vocalist Maynard James Keenan, formed in Los Angeles around 2003 out of a fictional band gag from HBO's Mr. Show. Where his other bands Tool and A Perfect Circle deal in heavy rock, Puscifer wanders through electronic rock, trip-hop, art rock and post-industrial textures, wrapped in tongue-in-cheek desert-Americana theatrics. Archangel is an avant-garde/electronic metal band from Venice, Italy, formed in 1994, notable for a groove-metal-rooted early sound that evolved into a symphonic, industrial, and electronically-inflected style incorporating elements as varied as saxophone passages within metal arrangements. Telefon Tel Aviv is an American electronic act formed in 1999 in New Orleans by high-school friends Joshua Eustis and Charles Cooper, known for a lush, melodic strain of IDM, ambient techno, and glitch. Their debut Fahrenheit Fair Enough (2001) paired intricate glitch programming with warm, romantic textures, while the synth-driven Immolate Yourself (2009) marked a darker turn. Cooper died in January 2009 just as that album was released; Eustis put the project on hold before reviving it as sole member in 2016.

A Perfect Circle is an American rock supergroup formed in Los Angeles in 1999 by guitarist Billy Howerdel, a former guitar tech for Tool, Nine Inch Nails and the Smashing Pumpkins, and Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan. Abstruse is the one-man experimental black/thrash/industrial metal project of Athens, Greece-based musician Substant, active since 2002. Substant composes via an idiosyncratic 'order-based system' that treats intervals as numeric patterns rather than conventional scales, and has built custom software ('motion2sound') to translate movement into sound and multi-sensory staging elements. The project's 2019 album Submerge: Ritual is structured as a conceptual 'Pan Ritual' narrative; a 2010 demo, Ivory Tower, was ranked among the year's top albums by the Avantgarde Metal webzine.
