Folgers is the 'Cult of Folgers' — a Tennessee bedroom project built around raw black metal and harsh noise, entirely fixated on the Folgers coffee brand as a running joke/lore concept (album titles include 'Damn Right, It's Folgers!' and 'Folgers Hates Maxwells'). Main contributor Hystalgia handles vocals/screams/growls, guitar, bass, synths, noise and production, blending household-object noise sources (shower, microwave, coffee maker) into the black-metal base, with Sikaydah contributing cover art and noise. The project is absurdly prolific — dozens of releases since its founding in December 2021 via the DIY label Lucid Haze Productions — culminating in the 2024 full-length 'Summoning of the Folgers.'

Ägakäken is a one-person Estonian black metal/experimental project helmed by SÜBÜR (guitar, vocals, synths, percussion). Its 2022 EP "BlÄkk VVärkk" mixes black metal with harsh noise, noise rock, and post-rock textures across short, abrasive tracks, some under 30 seconds. Other 2021–2022 releases include "DEMO 2021," "AxLxBxUxM," and "Seksiori Indrek."

Nine Inch Nails is Trent Reznor's industrial rock project, running from Pretty Hate Machine (1989) through The Downward Spiral, The Fragile, With Teeth, Hesitation Marks and Bad Witch. Atticus Ross joined as an official co-member in 2016 after years as Reznor's key collaborator and co-composer on their film scores. The catalog is built on layered, distorted programming and guitar — "industrial-strength noise over a pop framework" — distinct from the ambient instrumental Ghosts series the band also releases under its own name.

Solo industrial black/death metal project of Charlie Davis (also vocalist/bassist of sludge band Beggar and of the punk project Wasted Death), based in London, England. Debut album Paroxysms (2022) fuses grinding, blast-beat black metal with mechanized industrial-dub textures, deliberate 'inhuman' digital glitches, and ritualistic chant-like vocal passages, drawing conceptually on Philip K. Dick's VALIS and Solzhenitsyn's The Gulag Archipelago.

Mixhell is the São Paulo-born electronic project founded in 2006 by former Sepultura drummer Iggor Cavalera and his wife Laima Leyton, which grew from a husband-and-wife DJ duo into a live three-piece with bassist Max Blum. Their sound welds techno, acid, disco and industrial to Cavalera's ferocious live drumming, landing somewhere between dance music and rock. The debut album Spaces (2013), mixed by Brazilian techno producer Gui Boratto and released on Boysnoize Records and Last Gang, features a guest vocal from Greg Puciato of The Dillinger Escape Plan on the single 'Exit Wound'.

The Kovenant are a Norwegian band formed in 1992 (as Covenant) in Hamar that began in symphonic black metal and reinvented itself as industrial/cyber 'space metal' after its 1999 rename. The pivotal 1998 album Nexus Polaris, released on Nuclear Blast, drew in Mayhem drummer Jan Axel 'Hellhammer' Blomberg, who has remained the band's drummer. Fronted by Lex Icon (ex-Dimmu Borgir) and Psy Coma, their programming-drenched sound sits at the electronic edge of the Norwegian avant-black scene.

Creatvre is the solo project of French multi-instrumentalist Raphaël Fournier (Paris), who performs every instrument himself — guitars, bass, drums, synths, trombone, trumpet, and saxophone. His 2025 album Toujours Humain (released via I, Voidhanger Records) is described by critics as progressive black metal fused with electronica, industrial metal, and choral/symphonic elements, built around a 'cyber-industrial' concept of humanity dissolving into technology. The prior album Eloge de l'Ombre (2021) was named album of the year by Metal Hammer Spain.

Crystalline Thunderbolts Pierce the Sacred Mountain is a synth-driven raw black metal / dark ambient project of prolific Dutch multi-instrumentalist Maurice 'Mories' de Jong (Gnaw Their Tongues, Cloak of Altering, De Magia Veterum, Obscuring Veil, Aderlating, Seirom). Releases like Blessed Hands Touch the Ophanim Under the Golden Rainbows (2023) and Shine Like the Suicidal Madness of the Sacred Amethyst (2024) are built from 'wild keyboard music exclusively' — chaotic, saturated electronic textures layered with black-metal atmosphere and grandiose, scripture-tinged song titles about celestial beings. It's tagged avant-garde/symphonic/black metal on metal.academy and functions as one more mutation in de Jong's sprawling, genre-blurring catalog.

Liturgy is an American avant-garde black metal band from Brooklyn, founded in 2005 and led by composer-guitarist-vocalist Haela Ravenna Hunt-Hendrix. The project is built around a self-authored 'transcendental black metal' philosophy and ranges from blast-driven maximalist black metal to the glitch/IDM electronics of The Ark Work and the choral, orchestral scope of later records like 93696. Critically prominent, The Ark Work was named the #1 avant-garde album of 2015 by both Spin and Rolling Stone.

North Carolina solo producer (Roxanne Jonas Radclyffe) whose December 2024 album VIRLGOID pairs maximalist, self-mixed/mastered production with metal riffing and a fragmented trans-vigilante narrative concept; RateYourMusic tags the record Avant-Garde Metal/Post-Metal, and her own Bandcamp genre tags span deathstep, drone metal, industrial metal, nu metal and "metamodernism." One of dozens of aliased projects in a prolific, DIY internet-native discography.
