Griiim is the solo project of Paris-based visual artist and musician Maxime 'MT' Taccardi (also the sole member of atlas act K.F.R.), fusing atmospheric black metal with trap, trip-hop, industrial noise, and power electronics. Angry Metal Guy describes 2019 debut Pope Art as 'an eerie concoction of trap, trip-hop, industrial, noise and black metal' where 'true-blue riffs surface only once' and guitars mostly function to 'simulate droning dives and oppressive noise' under 'phat beats.' RateYourMusic and Discogs tag the record Avant-Garde Metal / Atmospheric Black Metal, and it features guest vocalists Meyhna'ch (Mutiilation) and O (Obskuritatem), released via Purity Through Fire.

Solo raw black metal project of Ottawa multi-instrumentalist Jessica Kinney, running since 2016 across roughly eight releases including full-lengths and splits. The sound layers harsh, noise-caked black metal against warped, decayed ambient passages, earning press comparisons to Sutekh Hexen, Gnaw, and dark-ambient artist The Caretaker. Thralldom is the long-running studio project of Ryan Lipynsky (aka Killusion, also of Unearthly Trance) and Jared Turinsky (aka Jaldagar), formed on Long Island, NY in 1997. Deliberately never a live band, Thralldom trades in a blackened dark metal that folds in noise, drone, and industrial texture - 2006's 'A Shaman Steering the Vessel of Vastness' was reviewed for its 'lo-fi drone and dread' and 'doom-laden ambience,' built from what its label describes as 'an amalgam of half-tuned radio channels, machine noises, and shamanistic repetition.' The project returned in 2016 after a decade away with 'Time Will Bend Into Horror,' balancing that same experimentalism against tighter riff-craft.

Dosanjos is a Sao Paulo black/death metal project built around raw riffing, claustrophobic dark-ambient drones, and dense noise textures, tagged by the band itself as 'schizometal.' Their lyrical world draws on cursed Brazilian poet Augusto dos Anjos, framing decomposition and existential horror through necro-poetic themes. SADWRIST is a French solo artist and self-described pioneer of the 'trashwave' aesthetic, fusing harsh noise, witch-house, djent, black metal, and trap into dense, glitch-riddled tracks. Crystalline Thunderbolts Pierce the Sacred Mountain is a synth-driven raw black metal / dark ambient project of prolific Dutch multi-instrumentalist Maurice 'Mories' de Jong (Gnaw Their Tongues, Cloak of Altering, De Magia Veterum, Obscuring Veil, Aderlating, Seirom). Releases like Blessed Hands Touch the Ophanim Under the Golden Rainbows (2023) and Shine Like the Suicidal Madness of the Sacred Amethyst (2024) are built from 'wild keyboard music exclusively' — chaotic, saturated electronic textures layered with black-metal atmosphere and grandiose, scripture-tinged song titles about celestial beings. It's tagged avant-garde/symphonic/black metal on metal.academy and functions as one more mutation in de Jong's sprawling, genre-blurring catalog.

Cloak of Altering is the avant-garde black metal solo alias of Dutch multi-instrumentalist Maurice "Mories" de Jong, begun in 2011 as a continuation of his earlier black metal band Ophiuchus and run alongside his other projects Gnaw Their Tongues, De Magia Veterum, Aderlating and Seirom. Where De Magia Veterum is his straight black-metal outlet, Cloak of Altering fuses 'mutated symphonic black metal' with breakcore-derived electronics and industrial noise, inviting comparisons to Blut Aus Nord and An Axis of Perdition. Albums such as Plague Beasts (2014) and Manifestation (2015), released via Crucial Blast, circle cosmic and occult themes across sprawling, drone-heavy tracks.

Ophiuchus was the second of Maurice 'Mories' de Jong's black metal aliases (after Astral), active from the mid-1990s until 2011 out of Drachten/Smallingerland. Its raw, bass-driven demo material — built around a bass guitar in place of an electric guitar, per the project's own liner notes — was Mories' first attempt at fusing black metal with electronic/avant-garde textures, a template he carried in parallel into Gnaw Their Tongues and then directly into Cloak of Altering once Ophiuchus wound down.

Strangeways is an experimental black metal band from Jerusalem, formed in 2006 by Avi Caspi and Yossi Darmon (later joined by drummer Nir Nakav). Their sole full-length, Rotting Under the La La Bombs (2013, Orgasmatrön Records), delivers Mayhem-indebted, Attila Csihar-toned Norwegian-style black metal roughened by deliberate CD-skip glitch edits and two contrasting instrumental interludes (keyboard/piano, and pure dark ambient). A minor, single-album entry at the fringe of Israel's small extreme metal scene.
